“Celebrate America -Celebrate Home”

America marks 250 years since its founding, while Chesterland celebrates 225 years of local history. It is a unique opportunity to honor both the country we love and the place we call home

The theme “Celebrate America- Celebrate Home” Highlights the shared heritage that unites us, from the nation’s founding to the heart of Chesterland.

As part of the concept, the Parade’s Grand Marshal will be Justice Miner, the Revolutionary War soldier who served under George Washington at West Point, and later became Chesterland’s founding settler. Portrayed by a historical reenactor, Miner will “step out of the past” to celebrate West Geauga’s earliest roots and legacy that shaped our community.

Justice Miner embodies both sides of the theme:

National– A Revolutionary War veteran connection to Wahington and the founding era.

Local- The earliest know settler whose arrival began Chesterland’s 225 -year story.

Miner is portrayed by Ben “B.J.” Kresnye a 20-year Chester resident, founding member of Chester Grave Hunters, former Mentor City Councilman and business owner
